What is GraviTrax?

An interactive marble run system from Ravensburger.

 

Who is GraviTrax suitable for?

The system is primary designed for children from the age of 8, but anyone over the age of eight who enjoys constructing and creating their own marble run worlds will have fun too!

 

What learning discoveries can you make with GraviTrax?

GraviTrax brings to life gravity and other laws of physics in a fun, playful way. As well as this, the system fosters fine motor skills and spatial awareness, and with its open-ended nature, allows exploration of creativity and more. Because there is no right or wrong answer with GraviTrax, experimentation leads to new discoveries with every track built.

Can Extensions and Elements be played alone?

No, they must be combined with a Starter-Set.

 

Can all products be combined with each other?

Yes, ALL GraviTrax products from the CORE, PRO and POWER lines can be combined with each other. However, a Starter-Set is always needed.

 

Can a beginner go straight ahead and start with a PRO set?

Yes, GraviTrax PRO is more demanding, but by no means only suitable for experienced GraviTraxers.

 

How many height tiles are replaced by a PRO column?

A PRO pillar is equal to seven height tiles.

 

What parts are included in the GraviTrax PRO Starter-Set Vertical?

The following components are included in the GraviTrax PRO Vertical Starter-Set:

- 8 closed pillars

- 4 open pillars

- 2 long walls

- 2 medium length walls

- 1 short wall

- 16 balconies

- 4 double balconies

- 2 short Bernoulli tracks

- 6 curved Bernoulli tracks

 

How can you get the best from the Loop element?

The marble must have the right speed to make it the through the Loop, so you should think of ways to build momentum for the marble on its approach to the Loop when constructing your track.

 

Is the Lift automated?

No, the Lift must be operated by hand.

 

Do you need a Starter-Set to get started?

Yes, a Starter-Set includes all the components to get started building GraviTrax tracks right away. Example track layouts and a challenge booklet are also included to make it easier for you to get started in the GraviTrax world.

 

What does GraviTrax mean?
The name GraviTrax is a combination of “Gravity” and “Trax” (our take on the word tracks). You’ll be combining both of these when you discover the action in the GraviTrax world!

 

Are these special marbles?

Yes, to fit through the curves and track pieces, GraviTrax marbles must be used. There are also two different marble sizes: the ones that roll through the track and slightly larger ones that are used as weights on bridges, for example. The larger marbles do not fit on the GraviTrax tracks.

 

Are the tracks made of metal?

No, the track pieces are made of hard plastic.

 

What does the Magnetic Cannon do?

The Magnetic Cannon uses magnets to accelerate the marbles.

 

How is GraviTrax PRO different to the core GraviTrax sets?

The components of the PRO sets are more complex, so are a little more demanding. These new components open-up new possibilities, for example making it easier to build higher and more complex track layouts. PRO sets can be recognised by their black packaging and are compatible with GraviTrax core and POWER sets.

 

Which Elements are a good combo?

The following action Elements can be combined particularly well with each other:

- Magnetic Cannon and Loop

- Multiple cascades to form a staircase

- Tiptube and Volcano

- Tiptube and Mixer

- Mixer or Splitter with the Volcano

- Jumper, Helix and Flip

- Trampoline and Transfer

 

Which GraviTrax set contains the most components?

With over 400 components, the PRO Starter-Set Giant is the largest set from GraviTrax.
