63388400 BRIO World London Underground Train Troubleshooting
My train isn't working
Our advice would be to use ‘premium’ high capacity batteries, rather than standard batteries (well-known brands or otherwise). Standard batteries may work well for light and sound but may not be quite powerful enough to operate the motor or the steam element. We use Amazon batteries, which are highly rated by 'Which', as are both 'Aldi' and 'Lidl' ones too. Using high capacity batteries could make a difference to the overall performance. Please note; alkaline batteries always seem to outperform any re-chargeable batteries.
It also might help if you check the axles are free of dust, fluff and other debris, as this could also cause resistance and put undue pressure on the batteries.
My train won't turn on
Please ensure you are using 'premium' high capacity alkaline batteries and these are inserted correctly. Push and hold the 'forward' button for 3 seconds until the front lights go on.
The train won't produce steam
To create steam, you need to fill the engine with cold water, using the water refill load in the wagon behind the engine. Squeeze the refill and place it into a container filled with clean water, then release pressure, letting the water in to the refill. Place the now water filled refill above the chimney at the front of the engine, and carefully inject the water into the chimney by squeezing the refill. Activate the lights, steam and movement by pressing the red forward or backward button on the top of the engine. When pressing either of the buttons again, the train will come to a halt.
If you are still experiencing issues, then it may help to use a cotton bud to gently clean inside of the chimney.
My train will only go forwards/backwards
Please ensure you are using 'premium' high capacity alkaline batteries and these are inserted correctly. It also might help if you check the axles are free of dust, fluff and other debris, as this could also cause resistance and put undue pressure on the batteries.
My train stops working after a few minutes
Please ensure you are using 'premium' high capacity alkaline batteries and these are inserted correctly.
Please be advised that the train engine will automatically shut down after 5 minutes of inactivity as a safety feature to stop the train from overheating and to conserve battery power.
How do I replace the batteries?
The sound and light effects are powered by 2 x 1.5V (LR44) button cell batteries. Use a screwdriver to open the battery cover. Fit the batteries as shown (+/-). Close the hcover and tighten the screw.
